The Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs on Friday discussed the WikiLeaks expose on alleged payment of bribes to MPs ahead of the 2008 trust vote.
Sources said the WikiLeaks issue, on which Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will make a statement in the Lok Sabha, dominated the discussions during the meeting.
Committee reviews Jats’ demand for reservation
The committee meeting chaired by the Prime Minister also reviewed the reservation demand of Jats against the backdrop of their on-going agitation.
The meeting reviewed the situation but did not arrive at a decision on their demand, the sources said.
Jats demanding reservation in central government jobs have been agitating in western Uttar Pradesh and have disrupted movement of trains in the region for over a week.
