The CBI on Saturday took over the investigation into the rape and murder of minor girl in Shimla even as public protests over the brutal crime continued.
The agency registered two cases relating to the rape and murder of the minor and the custodial death of an accused following orders of the High Court on July 19. The CBI has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT).
