The CBI has summoned the former Coal Secretary, P.C. Parakh, for examination on April 25 for his alleged role in the allocation of Talabira-II coal block in Odisha to Hindalco Industries.

Mr. Parakh had recently released his book criticising the agency for having registered a case against him. The CBI probe is to ascertain how the screening committee decision to allocate the coal block to public sector unit Neyveli Lignite Limited was overturned in favour of Hindalco.
