The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday said that it was studying the report of the Comptroller and Auditor- General of India (CAG) on alleged irregularities in Commonwealth Games projects tabled in Parliament.
Well placed CBI sources said the agency would study the report and find out if it pointed towards any “wrong doing or conspiracy” to accrue wrongful gains and loss to public exchequer.
The sources said the CBI would take “appropriate action,” including registration of preliminary enquiry, after going through the CAG report. The CBI stand is likely to spell more trouble to Delhi government, headed by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit as it tries to grapple with the pressure mounted by the Opposition parties who are demanding that she quit after the indictment by the CAG.
The CBI has already registered a number of cases in the CWG scam after the games got over in October last year. Organising Committee chief Suresh Kalmadi who is also a Congress MP from Pune, and a number of high ranking officials are lodged in Tihar jail here after the CBI swung into action.

What is the use in even studying the report? Is it not obvious that all these single bids ,nomination bids, super Inflated bids would have been as a result of massive kickbacks? When almost everybody at different levels of the government is involved who will you indict. It is callous enough to have not seen and stopped this mess, sitting on the sidelines and not acting on complaints congress government is doing everything it can to make sure it does not get reelected.
What a shame. The politicians and officials are only interested in making as much money as possible. Some very high profile persons have been faulted in the CAG report. However, if the past is any guide, no action will be taken against these persons and the entire issue will be burried.
