BJP on Thursday said CBI searches at DMK leader M.K. Stalin’s residence is an example of the “blatant” misuse of power by the UPA government for its survival and proves that it uses the probe agency to muffle allies who are walking out of the ruling coalition.
“The CBI raids on Mr. Stalin in the imported cars case vindicates BJP’s charges that Congress has been blatantly misusing CBI to survive in government. Today CBI is indeed the Congress Bureau of Investigation,” party spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy said.
He alleged that while there are “endless charges” of corruption against Congress, it is attempting to “muffle” voices of its alliance partners who plan to abandon it.
“This raid on Mr. Stalin, heir apparent to the DMK, is a message to BSP and SP that if they desert the UPA government they are going to meet the same fate,” Mr. Rudy said.
SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and BSP supremo Mayawati are facing cases of disproportionate assets which are investigated by CBI.

people do not care about the truth anymore , only a civil war in india
can help people gain independence from these democratic ruthless
rulers(govt of india), and once the civil war is over we indians will
shun democracy and take up communism.
Truth has not prevailed yet only a raid has been carried out and it
would to be too early to indict congress of being high on power or to
BJP to take sides of a corrupt. All parties have their hands full in
corruption.Congress knows it well that elections are at hand and
misusing CBI as indicted by others will not serve any purpose. In fact
it will create more problems since after elections no one knows who
will take which side, so let us not get misguided by any petty
politician about the reason and timing of the CBI raid. Only a fair
investigation will reveal the truth and all we have to do is wait and
watch .Its no good to besmirch the CBI of being biased or puppet of
any political party, its highly advisable to all the parties to
abstain from petty politics on this and allow the smooth functioning
of law....
This is crystal clear misuse of power and only acted as agency of ruling
party and has not given the reason as to why the CBI waited for so many
days. The CBI chief is elevated as governor after retirement clearly
shows that he would have acted in favour of ruling party. it is apparent
that the UPA II is surviving by using government machinery and exchequer
in its favour.
Two points to be noted:
1. BJP's claim might indeed by correct regarding misuse of CBI. It cannot be brushed away as using opportunity for political gains.. BJP has said this many times in many cases and not just in the case.
2. But that cannot be reason for corrupt to be let FREE. If indeed there was tax evasion and other corrupt practices involved in purchasing a car it should be addressed legally.
I will accept that argument of truth and corruption the day similar action is taken against Robert Vadra for evading tax and disproportionate wealth
This shows how the corruption pentrates into political system. Today most of the politicians cutting across all parties have people with criminal and corrupt records which can be investigated at any given time. Why blame CBI and/or the Present Government?
Since the CBI took action against Stalin which coincided with the parting of ways by the DMK,it cannot be construed that the UPA is misusing the power. The Center should have taken the action earlier. The BJP claim that it is the price which the allies preferring to walk out of the alliance, is ridiculous.
BJP, in anticipation of support in 2014, is trying to back DMK and SP being charged for
corruption or scams or other misdeeds. It should not make such a mistake as both parties
are very slippery and not dependable with any firm convictions or ideologies and their motto
is make hay while sun shines. It is very sorry state of affairs for Indian democracy that
governance is compromised for staying in power at heavy cost to public whom they are
supposed to serve.
Whats going on with the country's institutions? Wanton abuse too
blatantly right after DMK have left the coalition. Situation cant get
worse. I wish SC takes hold of the case!
It may be misuse of power, but is it fair that a person imports cars for
20 crores and goes scot free?
The truth is coming out. People have evaded taxes and are being
scrutinised. Let BJP not use this opportunity to side with corrupt for
the sake of political expediency. The people must be happy that action
is being taken against corrupt even if it is a belated one. Let the
truth alone prevail.
BJP is indulging in cynical political play! If the offences under
investigation (whose motive may indeed be suspect) shall we assume that
BJP has no objection to loss to the exchequer. Its record in Karnataka in
supporting corrupt minsters involved in the mining scam have not been
elevating. Mr.Rudy and his party should go about making amends for those
kind of misdeeds!
CBI is doing its duty, let BJP not shed crocodile tears over it. Mr Stalin will come out clean, he is not at the mercy of cheating taxmen to save import duty.
In other words, you can loot the country as long as you support congress and you become a culprit if you turn your back on congress.
