Lieutenant General (retired) Tejinder Singh, whose name figured in the controversial Tatra deal, was examined by the Central Bureau of Investigation here in connection with the Adarsh housing society scam. “He was examined on Wednesday and Thursday regarding the Adarsh case,” a senior CBI officer confirmed to The Hindu.

Lt. Gen. Singh owns a flat in the housing society. “We have examined him several times in the past year and a half in this case. This is not the first time he was questioned,” an official said.

Lt. Gen. Singh has not been named as an accused in the first information report filed by the CBI. According to informed sources, he was quizzed about the documents related to the flat and the source of funding for it.

He is under the CBI scanner for allegedly offering a Rs. 14-crore bribe to Army Chief V.K. Singh.

Lt. Gen. Singh has moved the court, alleging that the Army's accusation had harmed his fundamental right to reputation.
