The Madhya Pradesh High Court bench here on Friday ordered a CBI probe into the disappearance of a witness in the Malegaon blast case, since September 2008.

Dilip Patidar was the tenant of the most wanted accused in the Malegaon blast case, Ramchandra Kalsangra.

According to Patidar’s family, Maharashtra ATS took him two years ago for interrogation and since then his whereabouts are not known.

The order was given on a petition filed by Dilip’s brother Ramswaroop, who had asked the court to direct the CBI to find his missing brother.

The bench of Justice Shantanu Kemkar and Prakash Shrivastava ordered the CBI to investigate Dilip’s disappearance, Ramswaroop’s advocate Bhuvan Deshmukh told reporters here.

The bench had reserved its order on the issue after the completion of hearing on September 23 and it was announced today, he added.
