The Central Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday filed a fresh charge sheet against 95 accused in connection with a Vyapam scam case.

Those who have charged include 83 candidates, four Vyapam officials and eight middlemen.

The case pertains to alleged irregularities in the Samvida Shala Shikshak Patrata Pariksha Varg-3 Examination-2011 conducted by Vyapam. The CBI took over the case in July 2015 following Supreme Court directives.

Investigations into the files contained in the computer of then principal system analyst of Vyapam revealed that scores of 84 candidates were increased to make them pass the test. One of the candidates is absconding and efforts are on to trace him, the agency said.

The CBI found that the accused public servants and other suspects had given details of these candidates to the then principal system analyst, who increased the marks. However, OMR answer sheets, which could not be tampered with, revealed the actual marks.
