Burdwan blast case: Two held in Jharkhand

A joint team of the National Investigation Agency and Intelligence Bureau have picked up two persons from Sangrampur in Jharkhand’s Pakur district in connection with the Burdwan blast in neighbouring West Bengal.

“The two persons were taken by the NIA/IB team yesterday from Sangrampur in connection with Burdwan blast,” Mufassil police station incharge R K Minz told reporters on Thursday.

Pakur is adjacent to Birbhum district of West Bengal.

Two Jamat-ul-Mujahideen members were killed in the October 2 blast at a house at Khagragarh in Burdwan town.

Several key links in the alleged terror network have been arrested.

Three women, including the widow of the alleged JMB member Shakil Gazi alias Shakil Ahmed who was killed in the blast, are among the arrested. One woman was arrested from Guwahati.
