Officers of the Border Security Force and the Pakistan Rangers held a flag meeting in the Sialkot sector on Sunday to discuss Islamabad’s protests over alleged ceasefire violations along the frontier.
The meeting was held after Pakistan protested alleged violations of the ceasefire agreement by the BSF along the boundary at midnight on Saturday, said a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations.
Pakistani officials rejected BSF’s contention that some individuals were attempting to cross the border from the Pakistani side, the statement said.
They told the BSF officials that the sound of firing was heard inside Indian territory close to the boundary and that there was no movement from the Pakistan side.
Pakistan has accused Indian troops of indulging in “indiscriminate and unprovoked firing” along the border on several occasions in the past few months.
India has rejected the charges.
