SP leader Akhilesh Yadav condemned the violence and promised that action would be taken.
Sporadic violence involving Samajwadi Party (SP) workers broke out in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday in which one boy was killed, two persons were injured and TV cameras smashed during a clash with media persons in separate incidents.
Fresh from his party's stunning victory in the Assembly elections, SP leader Akhilesh Yadav condemned the violence and promised that action would be taken against all those who had taken the law into their own hands. Mr. Yadav said he was aware of the three incidents in Sambhal, Jhansi and Firozabad.
Police said the boy, identified as Danish, died after being hit by a bullet during celebratory firing allegedly by supporters of the SP candidate from Sambhal, Iqbal Mahmood. Sambhal is about 350 km from here.
Superintendent of Police D.K. Garg said necessary action was being taken.
Reports reaching here from Jhansi, about 300 km from here, said SP supporters clashed with some TV cameramen, during which some of their equipment were broken. The media persons were trapped in a room.
A complaint in this regard has been registered with the district administration, sources said.
Jhansi SP Satish Ganesh said the journalists were safe and not in any danger.
Mr. Yadav said two groups clashed before the results came out in Jhansi and that he had spoken to the police.
Events unclear
“We have discussed [measures to get] media persons out safely and stern action will be taken against who's behind it,” Mr. Yadav said, adding: “It is the time of election results and is still not clear what happened.”
In Firozabad, two persons were injured with one receiving gunshot injuries as supporters of the defeated SP candidate from the Sadar seat, Azim Bhai, clashed with the police and opened fire demanding recounting on the seat which it lost to the Bharatiya Janata Party by a margin of 2,015 votes.

True Colours of India......!What a bright and Explosive future we have got! East to West, Noth to South, we have this one thing in common!! Why more, who will expect fragrance than maggots from a rotting dead body!!! The state should be divided into 10, not just 4. Election expenditures in the new 9 states will be better than letting hooliganism strive in the heart of India. How long will we stay together as one nation, God Knows! God Save India.
Definitely this election has brought about change in UP. It's now become a Goondaraj from the earlier Goondiraj!!. I pity the poor who are so gullible & lack quality options to choose from. The writing is on the wall. States like Bihar & UP are going to produce world class burglars & convicts who would eventually migrate to other states & engage in all sort of illegal activities ranging from petty theft to rape & murder. Recent shoot-out at Chennai involving culprits from Bihar is a classic example of what you can expect in the days to come. God save us all.
What a wonderful, auspicious start to SP rule in UP. God save us from this state. "Superintendent of Police D.K. Garg said necessary action was being taken."? What necessary action is being taken now after that little boy has been taken away due to hooliganism of the worst order? What kind of lunatics shoot live rounds in celebration and please tell us if this is legal in our nation. I'm sure some of us would want follow this illustrious example if it is.
Gentlemen, honest, patriotic, sober, cool, right thinking people generally do not join Indian politics. In absence of these people having selfish and wicked motive are found presence in Indian politics.Automatically,Goondaraj era starts to work.It is not confined to any particular state, more or less, most of the Indian states are suffering from this fever(Goondaraj ?)
Until, system changes or is changed ,the present state of affairs will go on ...........
I am convinced that UP will continue to be poor and undeveloped while the states around it prosper. Even Bihar, has improved dramitically.
Goondaraj begins on very first day by SP workers.
This is just a beginning of the Goondaraj in UP.
Only God can save UP and india as well .
