Blast in Pakistan hotel kills 10

August 26, 2011 12:04 am | Updated August 11, 2016 03:21 pm IST - ISLAMABAD:

At least 10 people were killed and 14 injured in a bomb blast inside a hotel in Nowshera in Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa on Thursday evening. The bomb exploded as the hotel was opening in the evening for Iftar after a day of fasting, and was fairly crowded at the time.

Several shops in the vicinity of the hotel were also damaged by the blast. The bomb, according to the police, was planted in a bicycle in front of the hotel.

Elsewhere in the country, a drone on a surveillance mission crashed in Chaman – a border outpost in Balochistan – along the Durand Line. The unmanned aircraft crashed, apparently because of a technical snag.
