Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar should immediately resign and face fresh elections after his party’s decision to split ways with the NDA, the Shiv Sena has said.

“It is good that it has happened 10 months before the Lok Sabha elections. Now if all the big talk of Mr. Nitish Kumar about ethics is true then he should immediately resign from his post to face State elections, as he won the election with the help of the NDA, more specifically the BJP,” Sena’s MP Bharatkumar Raut told The Hindu on Sunday.

Mr. Raut made it clear that the split would not affect the alliance in the coming elections.

However, Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut said everybody, including the JD (U), would be affected by the decision.
