After a clean sweep in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was congratulated by leaders from all over the country. BJP is trying to gain majority in Goa and Manipur as well.

Party leaders hail the victory as a 'special,' celebrate the Assembly poll win by felicitating Mr. Modi at party headquarters in New Delhi on Sunday.

7.17 p.m.: People ask me, "Why do you work so much?" Ours is a government of everyone. I want to thank Amit Shah and team. BJP will bring in a 'New India.' Bharat Mata ki jai! Vande Mataram.

7.14 p.m.: Humans make mistakes but our approach to work will never be with wrong intentions.

7.12 p.m.: With these wins we have the responsibility of being humble. Power is not about posts. Power is an opportunity to serve. We will not deter in fulfilling your expectations. We will do it with a good heart. Our MLAs will fulfill the promises.

7.10 p.m.: In 2022 we mark 75 years of independence.

The dreams of 125 crore Indians should come true. I am not someone who looks at things only from an election perspective. I see things for the wellbeing of the people.

7.07 p.m.: Brothers and sisters, let us develop new India together. It is a golden era in BJP's history.

7.04 p.m.: BJP has become the biggest ever democratic party ever. We can say with ego that we belong to a party that is the world's biggest. We have got the opportunity to serve the biggest number of people ever.

7.03 p.m.: The burden on the middle class should reduce.

The poor are our biggest strength. We need to empower the poor.

7.00 p.m.: These elections are like emotional issues. They come when we mark the centenary celebrations of Pandit Deendayal Ji.

6.59 p.m.: Generations of individuals have given their lives to build this party. They travelled all over India to make the party strong.

6.56 p.m.: With these wins we have the responsibility of being humble. Power is not about posts. Power is an opportunity to serve.

6.52 p.m.: New India belongs to the dreams of India's Yuva Shakti (youth) and fulfils the aspirations of our Nari Shakti (women).

The poor are saying, "I want to progress and I seek the opportunity." This is the foundation of a new India.

6.49 p.m.: I was listening to some political pandits even yesterday. In this country, development is hard without emotional issues. There are many reasons for a win but such an empathetic win after such a record turnout is special & makes everyone think.

6.46 p.m.: Let us move forward towards better development. Election turnout across India is increasing. Democracy is being celebrated by citizens as the bonds between them is deepened.

6.45 p.m.:PM Narendra Modi begins his speech. Wishes everyone a happy Holi.

6.43 p.m.: Crores of poor people will benefit with Modi's schemes. Two more years are remaining. Our victory in UP is bigger than the 2014 win. Our party will win in the coming elections as well: Shah

6.37 p.m.: BJP won with a 3/4th majority. This is the biggest victory since 1947. This is a historical event: Shah

6.34 p.m.: Amit Shah gives his victory speech. He starts off mentioning the massive win in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

6.22 p.m.: The PM, Amit Shah, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu pay homage to the statue of Pandit Deendhayal Upadhyay.

6.21 p.m.: Mr. Modi walks among his supporters, as flower petals are being showered upon him.

6.20 p.m.: PM's convoy arrives outside BJP headquarters.

6.15 p.m.: Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan are also present.

6.12 p.m.: BJP chief Amit Shah reaches party headquarters, as BJP leaders await Modi to arrive.
