Responding to the scathing cartoon drawn by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray mocking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah, the BJP on Friday dismissed Mr. Thackeray as an attention-seeker.

BJP MLA and its Mumbai chief Ashish Shelar said that by making the cartoon, which was published by several local dailies, Mr. Thackeray had found a way of coming to limelight.

Taking a jibe at the MNS chief, who like his late uncle and Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray is also a political cartoonist, Mr. Shelar suggested he should get into "full-time" cartoon-making.

"Raj Thackerayji has found a way of coming to limelight. His cartoon has grabbed attention. Should do it full-time," Mr. Shelar tweeted.

>Taunting the BJP leadership on its humiliation in Delhi elections, Mr. Thackeray had in his cartoon replicated the imagery of the September 11, 2001 attack on the twin towers in New York.
