BJP stages protest against Jaiswal

October 04, 2012 03:00 am | Updated October 18, 2016 02:57 pm IST - NAGPUR:

The Bharatiya Janata Party staged a protest here on Wednesday against Union Coal Minister Shriprakash Jaiswal’s “indecent comments against women.”

Party workers led by women’s wing president Kirti Ajmera, blocked the road near the Gandhi Sagar lake and raised slogans against Mr. Jaiswal.

The Minister had stirred a controversy by making a sexist remark at a function in Kanpur on Sunday.

“The Congress president is a woman; still her Minister is insulting women. If she had the slightest respect for women, she would have sacked him,” said Ms. Ajmera.
