The Bharatiya Janata Party has said the Centre must be under some kind of pressure not to concede the legitimate Opposition demand for a Joint Parliamentary Committee probe into the 2G spectrum scandal.
Spokesperson Shahnawaz Husain wondered from where this pressure was coming. Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj had warned the Prime Minister and the Home Minister of the adverse consequences of appointing a Chief Vigilance Commissioner who was facing a case of corruption, and their insistence on the appointment, despite her disagreement, was another pointer to the “pressure” on the Prime Minister.
