The BJP on Sunday said there should be an inquiry into social activist Arvind Kejriwal’s allegation against Robert Vadra on his dealings with DLF.
“If a company which has a debt of Rs. 22,000 crore, which is paying an interest rate of 15 per cent of it, lends Rs. 65 crore to someone, then there should be an inquiry into it. Those involved in it should come up with concrete clarifications to put an end to the issue,” said BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar.
He said the BJP did try to raise this issue in Parliament but was denied permission.
Mr. Javadekar said: “The Congress had promised that States would be consulted before taking any decision on foreign direct investment but it has not kept its promise. This amounts to betrayal of the people of this country.”
“FDI in retail is not an economic reform but an attempt to divert people’s attention from the corruption that has taken place in this government’s tenure. The CWG scam, the 2G scam, the Antrix scam, the coal scam and now this new scam has come to light. There is corruption in the allotment of blocks of minerals available on the seashore as well,” he said.
On Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde’s controversial comments on the coal scam, Mr. Javadekar said: “Mr. Shinde is wrong. People never forgot the Bofors. Rajiv Gandhi and the Congress had to pay a heavy price for it in the elections. This government will pay the same price for the coal scam.”
Asked about the charges levelled by Mumbai-based activist Anjali Damania against Nitin Gadkari, Mr. Javadekar said there were no allegations against the BJP president.

Apparently BJP has skin in this game. When it brags so much about
demanding Govt to bring black money back home does it mean they have all
totally vested domestically? It seems a total show off but nothing else.
See When LS speaker or RS leader rejects a notice to bring a serious
issue on the floor of parliament, they just conveniently ignore it? So
the purpose of their note was just friendly sort and they never seriously
pursued it. What is that makes you think now you should even claim some
credit for the same issue that Mr. Kejriwal dared to bring it up in
public. Its also strange that how a section of BJP leaders decided to
leave kith and kin of political leaders...does it mean they are after all
the same crede and all must not be trusted for anything against
corruption. We saw BJP, other opposition parties all converged with
ruling party in a dramatic fashion to keep Jan Lokpal in freezer and
managed to fade it past public's memory. Well IAP folks are not like that
