At a meeting of the BJP parliamentary party meeting on Tuesday, senior leader L.K. Advani said the party must take up in Parliament the issue of the members contributing from their MPLADS fund towards relief work in the areas hit by mudslides and flash floods in Leh.

He appealed to the party MPs to contribute Rs. 10,000 each from their salaries to relief works. It was decided that the money would be collected by the parliamentary party and given to Sewa Bharati, an affiliate of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
