BJP will continue to oppose the Cabinet’s decision to allow Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in retail trade till it is reversed, former party president Rajnath Singh on Friday said.

“The BJP has been opposing FDI in retail since the beginning. We will take it to the logical end,” Singh said.

“Till the decision of the Union Cabinet with regard to allowing FDI in retail sector is not taken back, our protest against it will continue,” the BJP leader said.

On the Mayawati government in Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Singh said it has lost its credibility and has no moral right to remain in power.

When asked to comment on NCP supporters opposing Anna Hazare’s comments on Sharad Pawar’s slapping on Thursday, the BJP leader said such acts are condemnable.

“BJP will never support any kind of violence. People who indulge in such acts of violence should not be encouraged,” he said.
