Expressing concern over the condition of Indian students trapped in riot-hit Kyrgyzstan, BJP on Monday demanded that the government should make every effort to ensure their safe-passage back home.

“We demand that the government make every effort to ensure evacuation of the trapped Indian students in Kyrgyzstan and arrangements for their safety,” BJP spokesman Rajiv Pratap Rudy told reporters here.

More than 100 Indians are trapped in Kyrgyzstan’s Osh and Jalalabad towns after ethnic riots erupted in the Central Asian republic.

The External Affairs Ministry said 15 students were stranded in Jalalabad and 99 students, a professor and a businessman in Osh.
