The recent > arrest of Amit Kumar alias Bachcha Rai, the owner of the dubious V.N. Rai College and the alleged mastermind behind the Class 12 results scam in Bihar, triggered a Twitter war between leaders of the ruling alliance and the Opposition, each charging the other with being close to him.
RJD leader and Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav, reacting to a picture posted online showing Bachcha Rai sitting on the podium with party chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, posted another picture that showed Bachcha Rai along with Union Minister Giriraj Singh, who was distributing prizes to students at his controversial college.
“When BJP gang do a character assignation (assassination) of others based on a random picture then it suits you guys,” tweeted Tejaswi Yadav. He followed it up with another tweet, “See how pleasantly you are awarding toppers of his college…culprit admitted that you were going to open a medical college with him.” Earlier, in a confession to the police, Bachcha Rai had reportedly admitted that he was planning to open a medical college with a Union Minister.
Tejaswi Yadav posted again on Twitter, “If Bachcha Rai had been close to us, our men would have been giving the award in his college, not you.” He lobbed yet another tweet: “Modi’s favourite minister with scam accused & his father. He is bus[iness] partner and family friend of main culprit Bachcha Rai.”
Now it was the turn of Giriraj Singh to react. He posted a picture of Bachcha Rai along with RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on his Twitter handle saying: “Dear Tejaswi ji…few durlabh tasvir [rare pictures] of your father Lalu ji and uncle Nitish babu with Bachcha Rai...clarification??”
Tejaswi Yadav responded immediately: “Bihar BJP leaders know how honest you are Giriraj ji, thats why everyone is deadly silent including Sushil Modi Ji…Aren’t they??”
Later, Mr. Singh told local journalists in Madhubani on Monday that as a political figure he went to many functions to give away awards but the results scam had taken place JD(U) and RJD were in power.
