Police have arrested Budhan Sada, a prime accused in the 2009 Amausi massacre in which 16 people were killed in Bihar’s Khagaria district.

Acting on a tip-off, police raided Saura village and captured Sada, who was evading arrest ever since the carnage took place.

Sada was carrying a reward of Rs. 50,000 on his head, they said.

Twenty-nine persons were earlier arrested and sent to jail in this connection.

Sixteen people, including five children, were killed by suspected Maoists in the attack which took place due to a land dispute.

The victims belonged to the Kurmi caste and were from Amba Ichwara village. The attackers had tied their hands and feet before shooting them.
