Bid to make Congress rally a big success

April 13, 2015 02:52 am | Updated 02:52 am IST - NEW DELHI:

Eager to sustain the momentum that has been mobilised across the country and the political spectrum over the opposition to the Land Bill, the Congress leadership on Sunday took stock of the preparations for the farmers’ rally the party is planning at the Ram Lila Maidan on April 19.

Party vice-president Rahul Gandhi, who has been away for nearly two months and whose whereabouts is a closely guarded secret, is expected at the rally. The onus of mobilising crowds has been placed on Haryana. A meeting was held at the residence of the former Haryana Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
