Bhutan PM to attend Modi’s swearing-in

Bhutan Prime Minister Lyonchen Tshering Tobgay will embark on a four-day visit to India to attend the swearing-in ceremony of premier—elect Narendra Modi in New Delhi on May 26.

Lyonchen will be visiting lndia from May 25 to 28 at the invitation of the Government of lndia, an official statement said.

Other key SAARC leaders - Afghan President Hamid Karzai, Nepal Prime Minister Sushil Koirala and Maldivian President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom have confirmed that they will attend the ceremony.

Lyonchen will meet the new Prime Minister on May 27.

During the meeting, the two leaders are expected to discuss bilateral relations and other issues of common interest and concern.

Lyonchen will also have the opportunity to interact with the other new leaders of lndia during the visit.

Lyonchen will be accompanied by Lyonpo Rinzin Dorji, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dasho Yeshey Dorji, Foreign Secretary and other senior officials from the Foreign Ministry.
