Claiming she has information that a political party had held a meeting in New Delhi to bring the Lok Sabha elections forward to 2013, Trinamool Congress chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee asked her party workers here on Friday to be prepared to face elections any day.

“Take the people into confidence. Do not undermine any election. Be prepared so that we can face elections any day,” Ms. Banerjee told a gathering of party leaders and supporters.

She said she had information about the meeting where holding of early Lok Sabha elections was discussed but refused to divulge more.
