Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra told a delegation from the Bar Council of India (BCI) that the differences between the four senior-most judges and him will be resolved within the judicial institution and in a positive manner, BCI Chairman Manan Kumar Mishra said on Sunday.
Mr. Mishra told The Hindu that the delegation met 14 Supreme Court judges, including Justices Arun Mishra, A.K. Goel, D.Y. Chandrachud, Sanjay Kishan Kaul and all the apex court judges present in the National Capital in marathon meetings that went on late into the day.

“They all said the issue would be resolved within the Supreme Court brethren. They all said they want a resolution and the highest judiciary to function as a cohesive unit,” Mr. Mishra said.
One of the four judges - Justices J. Chelameswar, Ranjan Gogoi, Madan B. Lokur and Kurian Joseph, who held the extraordinary press conference on Friday, told The Hindu : “It is true that the Bar Council of India met us. But we have nothing in particular to say. The Chief Justice of India has to respond now. We told them that. There is nothing personal here which requires mediation. We have raised an issue. Now it is upto the Chief Justice to take a decision within the institution.”
The delegation met Justices Chelameswar and Kurian Joseph.
Mr. Mishra clarified that the BCI delegation met the judges only to convey their concern about situation that has developed in the past two days and urge them to resolve the issue.
“We have not discussed with them how to resolve the issue. Whether to hold a Full Court or not or anything. They will decide it among themselves. But they are all positive it will be resolved. They do not want any intervention from outside the institution. The CJI did not say by when the issue would be resolved,” Mr. Mishra said.
