Accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party in-charge of Uttar Pradesh, Amit Shah, of creating a fear psychosis among Muslims by “threatening to take revenge for the Muzaffarnagar communal violence,” the Samajwadi Party has demanded stern action against him. Not only should a case be lodged against Mr. Shah, he should also be banned from entering the State, the party has urged the EC.
In a complaint lodged with the Election Commission on Saturday, SP national general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav referred to Mr. Shah’s speech in Bijnor on Friday wherein he threatened that “a day after the formation of the Modi government, the Uttar Pradesh government would be dismissed.”
In his complaint, Professor Yadav also mentioned Mr. Shah’s reported statement in Muzaffarnagar on Friday. He alleged that to “strike fear in the Muslims, Mr. Shah had threatened to seek revenge for the Muzaffarnagar riots.”
Prof. Yadav has demanded that the CDs pertaining to Mr. Shah’s statements in Bijnor and Muzaffarnagar be examined by the Commission.
