Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray was on Wednesday shifted to the intensive care unit of a private hospital in Mumbai.

He was later moved back to his room.

He was hospitalised on Tuesday after he experienced discomfort in breathing. The party said he had to undergo routine examinations requiring him to be in the hospital for a few days.

Party workers are, however, tight-lipped on their leader’s condition. Sena leader Neelam Gorhe told The Hindu that it was normal.

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray, Mr. Bal Thackeray’s estranged nephew, visited him in the hospital.
