Describing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Narendra Modi as a “symbol of development and good governance”, yoga guru Baba Ramdev said here on Friday that people should support him as the next Prime Minister of the country. He was speaking on the sidelines of a rally organised here.
Criticising the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the Centre, he said the country needed an honest Prime Minister who would help bring the black money stashed away in overseas banks.
The yoga guru had supported Mr. Modi in the past claiming that the BJP should project him as the Prime Ministerial candidate if the party wanted to return to power.
Criticises PM
Criticising Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Baba Ramdev stated that he was surrounded by corrupt people. Dr. Singh did not have the courage and inspiration to lead the people, he said.
Stating that Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is “confused from head to toe”, Baba Ramdev asked, “How can you expect vision from a man who is confusion personified?”
Blaming the Congress for various problems that the country is facing, he said the party that had been in power for so long is responsible for the lack of development in the country.
Regarding West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, he said she had much to do for the State and had taken the right decision by withdrawing support to the United Progressive Alliance government at the Centre.
