Thursday started off on an emotional note for Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Ashutosh, who tweeted a congratulatory letter sent to him by his father.

The journalist-turned-politician shared the letter with his Twitter followers by saying: “No father has written a better letter to his son than mine. My father wrote this to me. Can't be more emotional!! (sic).

Mr. Ashutosh’s father starts off congratulating his son, who he addresses as “My dear Banarsi”, for the AAP’s landslide win in the Delhi Assembly elections.

“You have created history and immortalised our names also with this success,” writes the obviously proud father.

He goes on to caution Mr.Ashutosh and his party. “My humble suggestion to you and all the party members is- be submissive, polite and have a good rapport and coordination with the Centre for smooth sailing. Also, hasty decisions to be avoided.”

He signs off by reminding his son that “sincerity, hard work and honesty never go unrewarded.”

After five hours of it being shared, the letter had been retweeted over 700 times and favourited by over 900 people.
