Parliament remained deadlocked for the sixth day on Tuesday as BJP stuck to its demand for resignation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the coal block allocation issue.
As soon as the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha met for the day, BJP members trooped to the Well raising slogans against the Prime Minister.
In the Lok Sabha, the NDA appeared to put up a show of unity with Shiv Sena, JD(U) and Akali Dal members raising slogans against the government from their seats.
DMK members were also seen protesting against the government for training Sri Lankan forces at airbases in India.
Several Congress members were also on their feet insisting that the House function.
Amid vociferous protests, both the Houses were adjourned for the day.
In the Rajya Sabha, DMK members moved to the aisles carrying banners that read ‘Stop Training Sri Lankan Army’ the moment Chairman Hamid Ansari called the House to order.
“Please don’t do that...no banners please,” Mr Ansari pleaded with DMK members.
BJP members on the other hand shouted slogans demanding resignation of the Prime Minister.
When DMK members started moving towards the Well, Mr Ansari warned them that he “will name them” if they stepped into the Well. He then adjourned the House.

From being a talking shop parliament has become a shouting shop!!It is degrading for the Parties & MPs to go to the well of the House & create confusion!!There is no discipline in the House! it has become a free for all!! Public money is being wasted through this wrangling between the govt & the opposition! Six day stalling of parliamentary proceedings is nothing short of Betrayal of Democracy!!! Ways & means to contain corruption & bring in transparency have to be explored instead of Sonia attacking the BJP or the BJP asking the PM to resign!!! There should be an end to these mutual recriminations!!!!
BJP probably wants a mid term poll. When the majority of Parliament supports the government of the day, there is no need for a mid term poll. BJP wants its wish thrust on the Nation by continuing to stall the Parliament proceedings and this is not in national interest but in their own selfish interest and therefore their present stand is highly motivated and cannot be supported.
The BJP should play a proactive role instead of simply asking the Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh to resign. Resignation will not solve the problem. The people are expecting the opposition to play a constructive role instead of wasting heard earned money of the public. The same situation exist in different parts of the state in India.
