Team Anna on Tuesday appeared set to oppose UPA in the next Lok Sabha elections saying its mission is to ensure that “new and apt people” come to power in the 2014 polls. It also attacked the BJP alleging that it supported the Team earlier with a political motive.
The posturing came on a day when Anna Hazare regretted the attack on media by his supporters on Monday night and warned that he will call off his fast if they again indulge in violence.
Even as the 74-year-old activist’s fast entered the third day and the health condition of two of his aides worsened after fasting for seven days, there were no signs of government initiating a dialogue with Team Anna to end the crisis.
Team Anna member Prashant Bhushan alleged that the government wanted people like Anna Hazare to die so that they can continue to “loot the country“.
Government, on its part, said the Prime Minister’s Office has written two letters to Anna Hazare under the advice of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. “What is stated in the letter is the government’s position to the best of my knowledge,” the then Home Minister P. Chidambaram told reporters.
The doctors also advised Arvind Kejriwal and Gopal Rai, who are fasting for the past seven days, to get hospitalised as their health condition worsened, a request rejected by both saying they were “not cowards who will give up because of health concerns“.
“I am warning the government not to try to arrest us and force us to go to hospital,” Mr. Kejriwal said.
Political statements from the dais came from Kiran Bedi and Kumar Vishwas, with one taking on UPA in a veiled manner and the other attacking BJP in the open.
“This mission will not stop till the 2014 elections, till the time new and apt people come in power. We have to go till end which is 2014 when people with Anna’s blessings will come to power. Till then, our responsibility is to spread these words,” Ms. Bedi said.
Referring to BJP Chief Nitin Gadkari’s reported comments that Team Anna should not target the system in general, Mr. Vishwas said, “They supported our movement earlier but not now. I just want to say you were there in support because you had your own political motives. His party was with us because they thought it will help them win elections in five states.”

Do not join politics anna ji because you can't pass the Jan Lokpal Bill
in the Political system.
We are in favour of Anna ji's movement against corruption. Anna ji hum
sab apke saath hai.The movement against corruption should go on .But
don't join politics Anna Ji.Ambika Soni is most corrupt and with this
pranab mukherjee and all government officers.The decision of team Anna
will win the hearts of all the Indian peoples.Naveen Patnaik,Modi,
should join annas party.If anna going to join he should form a party
named IAC.
There are several institutions like the Constitution, Courts, CAG, EC,Opposition,Media etc to act as checks and balances on the Executive but these have not had the desired effect to prevent monstrous excesses of the Executive with the result of citizens like Anna agitating for bringing up laws to make the government act in the real interests of common man.While the methods adopted by Team Anna may not be wholly unquestionable,the responsibility for creating such a situation mainly lies on the govt.It should instead of riding rough shod over their demands introspect and reflect whether there are grounds for Team Anna to agitate.Unfortunately the UPA read Congress-is seeing only its own side with none playing a Vikarna or Vibhishna of Mahabharat and Ramayan fame.There may be just a few hundreds or thousands on the Jantar Mandir but millions feel the urgent need for cleansing the country's politics.
Without the full backing of an organized political outfit with clear cut policies/program on governance of the country,Anna and his team will not be able to take on the established entrenched parties like the Congress,BJP etc. in 2014.For building such an organized outfit on a national scale lot of money will be required.Such huge money will be difficult or impossible to raise adopting only fair means.Anna will not resort to foul means.It is one thing to organize protest rallies but it will be an entirely different proposition to organize an anti corruption movement in a sustained manner till 2014.Anna will do well to stick to his original demand for a strong Lokpal bill for which compromises will have to be made by both sides.The government should not stand on prestige and invite Team Anna for meaningful talks to bring about strong Lokpal bill.Team Anna too should abandon rhetoric route and reciprocate by giving up fast.
The struggle is in right direction. The next step is to visit all the parliament constituencies from now on and ask public whether they want the prevalent bad governance or best people friendly governance with new faces where people are masters and poverty illiteracy will be eradicated time bound.
Can some one please ask Anna&Co, the so called ‘new and apt’ people can be found in which heaven? If they really feel they themselves are ‘new and apt’, then why cant they just contest elections and rule the country. Dictating a democratically elected government is nothing but insult to the democracy, no matter whatever the circumstances are. And its sad that the so called 'educated youth' are supporting this anti-democratic trend.
By the way Singapore has 94.7 literacy rate. 14.2% of GDP is the income
from tax of the Government in Singapore. And I did not find any report
claiming about any JAN LOK PAL BILL in Singapore.

To become a teacher you have to study for a minimum of 15 years, to become a doctor you have study for at least 17 years, same goes on with any job, you need to have a minimum qualification, but what about those men who rule the country and its billions don't they require any qualification?
In the year 1982, in Singapore, Lokpal Bill was implemented and 142 corrupt ministers and officers were arrested in one day. Today Singapore has only 1 percent poor people, no tax is being paid by the people to the Governmen, 92 percent literacy rate, better medical facilities, cheaper prices. 90 percent money is white and only 1 percent unemployment. We would like our country to be a corrupt free country.

the national corruption discourse should be rid of these arrogant undemocratic and corrupt anna team.
they have taken over the RTI act derived unprecedented national anger against corruption to project themselves and their nefarious designs on the country.
the discourse is so vilified, since they brook none,that an effective and any meaningful discourse is not possible except their lokpal, which alone in any form is not a panacea for a system that is corrupt.
better these mobocracy and mafia are desisted from the topic,even if it means slapping slippering or kicking these guys whenever they venture out.
Team Anna, are doing a commendable job in exposing corruption in our country.
The movement would succeed and as expected it wouldn't be a smooth affair.

One has to agree that corruption is a universal phenomenon and while corruption in
advanced countries doesn't affect day to day living of ordinary citizens, the situation in
India is horrible.
Corruption in India siphons away resources from schools, hospitals, roads and
electricity. It generates poverty, farmer's suicides.
It affects the dignity of our nation internationally and affects the morale of our citizens.
Anti-corruption movement in India is India's message to the world to embark on a
straight path of peace and progress for all humanity.
Other political parties and lot of people supported you earlier are not
supporting you now, including me - is because of a simple reason, now we
know what your real intentions are. Dont destroy our mother land, thats
all I have to say to you, thats good for no one.. give it sometime, go
through the proper channels, never be tired of doing good. Like it or
not Mrs. Bedi, Mr.Bhushans and Mr.Kejriwal are leading Mr.Anna to a big
MISTAKE.
