Takes umbrage at Narayanasamy’s reported statement of fissures among the members
Striking a militant note, Team Anna ended the sixth day of its protest at Jantar Mantar here on Monday, taking strong exception to a reported statement by Minister of State in the PMO V. Narayanasamy alleging divisions within Team Anna.
However, Mr. Narayanasamy told The Hindu that he had not made any comments about any individual. “All I said was that Parliament will decide on the Lokpal Bill and that Parliament is supreme. I did not take any name. They [Team Anna members] are trying to provoke people.”
Citing the Minister’s reported comments, an outraged Kiran Bedi asked Delhiites to take to the streets on Tuesday and said it was time for people to show their anger.
“Let us all assemble here on Tuesday. We will think up ways to show our anger, but we should do it non-violently. We are not going to let any more of our brothers who are fasting here to be taken to hospital. We will not let our countrymen continue to remain poor. Every 10 minutes we will call out the names of these 15 corrupt Ministers and shout slogans against them. We will not let news channels spread lies. Are we going to protest here or spend time trying to counter the lies that are being told on TV? Tomorrow we will decide that we are not going to remain doormats anymore. Go home today peacefully but with anger in your hearts. All Delhiwalas should come out on the streets tomorrow, so that the country can have a good anti-corruption law,” Ms. Bedi said.
She appealed to the judiciary to take up suo motu India Against Corruption (IAC)’s demand for a Special Investigation Team to probe the allegations against the 15 Ministers.
Following her speech, Manish Sisodhia alleged that Mr. Narayanasamy was spreading lies about Mr. Hazare and that the Minister had alleged that he did not want to sit on a fast this time.
Mr. Hazare, who spoke afterwards, said: “If the Minister in the PMO tells such lies, what will happen to the country?” He alleged that Mr. Narayanasamy had written a letter to him and delivered it to his team in an attempt to break their unity. “But I had my doubts. When I asked Mr. Narayanasamy what would happen to the Bill already passed in the Lok Sabha he had no answer,” Mr. Hazare alleged. “I challenge Narayanasamy and Salman Khurshid [Law Minister] to sit with me and I will show that they have lied.”
On the second day of his fast, Mr. Hazare said: “The way this wave of protest against corruption is building up in the country, I get the feeling that the Government would have to bring in a strong Lokpal Bill or it will have to go.”

We don't deserve to have a corrupt free society unless and untill we
step down on the roads for this cause. We people accept corruption at
the bottom of our heart and we are not considering corruption as a
serious crime against the society like murder or rape.Every developed
nation came through this path and PRACTICED democracy for 350 to 400
yrs. India has only 60 yrs of experience. Indian population will
realize the seriousness of corruption when they experience multiple
folds severe scams and corruption than nowadays. So, i wish India
should experience severe/cruel scams which is 100 times bigger than
2G/common wealth scam(s).Not saying this to point finger on
politicians and bureaucrats, but by evaluating my own greed and laziness/cowardliness on societal norms.
People who donot support Team Anna or against team anna are either
unaware about them or the arecongress supporters or corrupt people, or
they simply misguided by some so called secular activists or they just
simply trying to be different by not supporting the movement. I would
suggest those people to read Arvind Kejriwal's book on democracy
called "Swaraj" which is a blue print on democracy. If you are not
with Team Anna and feels strongly against corruption, so please start
something to suggest people that what can be done to resolve this
issue, after its your country too. Corruption allegations against
Team Anna and corruption against central ministers can't be seen as
same because team anna people are power less they are not holding any
office of power of public office. They are just very ordinary
activists and if they are corrupt investigate those allegations they repeatedly asked for this. Government is trying to divide the people
movement and we are getting divided.
Dear Annaji,
Although we appreciate your Gandhian way of protest, we need you. I mean India needs you. Instead of fasting, please form a party or select candidates who under one brand called ANNA contest the elections and you please canvas for them and make them to win. This is the only way I feel as current politics and parties have gone way beyond anybody's control.
If your individual contestents win majority and crack the balance between two major political parties (BJP and Congress), sure both parties will realize what's happening in public mind. Am sure just by demanding or fasting the issue of corruption and black money wont end.
I dislike Sharad Pawar, I think he is the most corrupt person. There is a need of taking strong action against him. I do not support Team Anna and his so called movement. but I want to see this man behind bars.
and by the way, please the supporters of Team Anna should not justify this. and don't think if people are not with Anna they are not doing anything.
Dear. why don't you come up with a better idea to end corruption . If
that will be good. People will follow you as well. sitting home and commenting on others is very easy my friend then DOING that SOMETHING we
always talk about.
There are many who criticize Anna and his team. But I wonder what those
critics have ever done against the rampant corruption. There may be
mistakes from the team Anna. But at least they are lighting a lamp in
the darkness.
Anna team appears to be a law unto themselves. Althought many of them are not clean, they seem to believe that they have been ordained to decide what is right and what is wrong and that whatever they they suggest should be followed ! Will the Lokpal solve the corruption is PWD, RTO Offices, Subregistrar's Office,electricity and Water supply Departments and other places where corruption has been more or less institutionalized. The mindset of the people as a whole need to change. And the activists, who claim to have got inspiration from gandhiji have to speak in polished language too!
