Saudi Arabia on Saturday informed the Indian authorities that Fasih Mohammed, a suspected terrorist apprehended by its authorities, may be deported to India soon.
An engineer by profession, 28-year-old Fasih is allegedly involved in the bomb blast at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore and the shooting incident near the Jama Masjid in Delhi in 2010.
He is wanted by both the Delhi and Karnataka police.
On the request of the Karnataka and Delhi Police, the CBI had asked the Interpol to issue a Red Corner Notice against Fasih, after which Saudi authorities have conveyed that he has been apprehended by them.
India is interacting with Saudi officials regarding the formalities to bring Fasih back.
Fasih’s wife Nikhat Parveen had approached the Supreme Court, claiming he was in the custody of central security agencies. She alleged that he was picked up by a joint team of Indian and Saudi officials on May 13.

What left unsaid is that without US intervention Saudis would unlikely have handed over the
two suspects to India. I suspect this is all part of the nuanced approach that India took in its
recent dealings with Iran (public pronouncements notwithstanding) which is a priority for both
the Saudi and the US.
Another Pricey catch for India. Fasih Mohammed must be glad to be deported to India to live rest of his life at the cost of Taxpayers' money. At least, that's what is happening to his other counterparts in Indian custody.
