The Election Commission on Saturday issued the notification for the July 19 Presidential poll. The last date for filing nominations is June 30.
The papers will be scrutinised on July 2, and July 4 is the last date for withdrawal of candidatures.
The poll, if necessary, will be held on July 19 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. and counting taken up on July 22.
While for the elections to the Assembly, the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, the Governors/President issue the notification, only for the Presidential poll does the EC directly issue notification through a government gazette in Delhi as well as in the State/Union Territory headquarters.
