Team Anna and Ramdev were free to voice their concern against corruption but they cannot be allowed to “destroy” the existing institutions to tackle graft, a Union minister said on Sunday.
“They have full freedom to voice concern against corruption. But Anna Hazare and Ramdev should understand that in the name of fighting corruption, if they want to destroy the existing institutions, then the country will not accept it...
“They should understand that the existing institutions have been set up by our freedom fighting forefathers,” Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Harish Rawat said.
Holding that the Prime Minister’s post is the “most revered,” he said whosoever is attacking it “is not working towards the country’s betterment”.
He was asked to comment on the day-long fast undertaken by Hazare and Ramdev at Jantar Mantar here on Sunday.

The bofors-fame Rajiv Gandhi was also prime minister holding the so called revered post. But what he did everyone in India knows. So let not this minister talk about reverence of the PM post and in terms of 'the country will not accept'. The country demands an effective lokpal to curb and eradicate corruption. If the present government does not act on the nation's demand, then the Congress Party will not be accepted by the people of India. Manmohan Singh is an ineffective PM.
The citizens are not destroying the institutions or anyone holding any official positions, but insisting that they should function with independence, courage and professionalism as intended by the Constitution and laws of the land! IF any of the institutions and revered or exalted posts are being desecrated, should one not ask whether it has anything to do with the "present occupants and their conduct in office"??? This is particularly so when such outcry against corruption, abuse of power and office had not been alleged any time before in anything like such widespread and loud volume as the country witnesses now (despite every effort to mislead the public and suppress/sideline the news by a section of media labelled paid media)!!
The Minister indirect statement is that you can raise your concern, but do not show your finger to Congress Prime Minister and Sonia /Rahul.
