Threatening a fight to finish by August, social activist Anna Hazare and yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Sunday began their day-long fast, their first joint appearance on a public platform in the past one year, against the UPA government on the issue of corruption.
The one-day fast demanding that back black money stashed abroad be brought back and against corruption is also likely to have its echo in the State capitals as well with Ramdev’s Bharat Swabhiman Andolan organising protests.
Before launching their fast, Baba Ramdev said that there will be a fight to finish in August as he is launching a protest programme then. “From today, we are intensifying our protest to bring back black money stashed abroad and want all of the countrymen to be part of the fight to finish by August,” he said.
Mr. Hazare said during today’s protest, “We will talk about the course of action and nature of campaigning in the future.”
Baba Ramdev and Mr. Hazare separately reached the dharna hotspot Jantar Mantar around 10.10 a.m. on Sunday after visiting the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat.
While Baba Ramdev was accompanied by his aide Balakrishna, Mr. Hazare was seen with former IPS officer Kiran Bedi, RTI activist Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia — prominent members of Team Anna.

several corruption charges by genuine authorities are going to represent
us?Are they correctly criticizing the system and its people who have
made us one of the largest economies?Its high time to save our nation by
sending these Chaplins back and voting for the right candidate in the
upcoming elections.
Corruption is increasing day by day. We all need to get together towards the objective of making clean india. People without skills get work and smart people have to suffer. A lot of time is wasted going to govt. offices. Lets take a pledge to remove corruption.
All Leaders are not corrupt, but majority leaders are corrupt. It is fact that Left parties leaders are free from corruption. A day will come peoples will realise truth and teach leasson to corrupt politicians by democratic way, that day will change fate of our India.
It is not only you but me too, beside I project the same question on Anna what he himself projected on MMS, We must not fall prey to the people who do not believe in constitution & constitutional bodies of the government & the parliament as an institution of democracy while their own records are questionable
In a democratic country people have their rights to raise issues, but the issues must be such that can genuinely benefit the society. What our civil right activists are doing must bring some change in the society in a positive manner amd should be beneficial to the people at large. What we all want is alleviation of poverty, employment generation and progressive growth of not only one class of society but entire class both in urban and rural India.
@abhishek iyer i guess digvijay singh ,sonia gandhi and kabil sibbal must be ur role model as they r the real crusader against corruption. If anyone points any flaw in these leaders then u say they are denigrating indian parliamentary system and indian democractic institution and how about u when ur pointing flaws in others there is nothing if they are the heroes for other but it is in u.
Am I the only one who finds it all gimmicky? And Baba Ramdev as an anti
corruption crusader? The guy who has made a fortune by selling
"Putravati", a drug that guarantees a male child! Something is seriously
wrong with us if these guys are our heroes now.
Recently Mr Adwani rightly commented that Indians are also disappointed
by BJP and other congress's opposition parties. There is no hope for
better position in future than now. People think all parties have same manifesto and motives and no one address the real problem India is
facing today. No party give guarantee of corruption free India. I think
these stalwart leaders must give attention to increase mortality of
Indians and create an environment where corruption will not be
respected.
KBH and Ramdeva are very fast in sitting on fast but not on an indefinite (unto death). And in it , there is no harm because no family/child of their own waiting or wanting their return to home to break the fast and eat . Both at regular intervals are given the script to read and spread pupular unrest in the country till UPA's existence at the Centre.
they look the dirtiest of all the politicians, earth has given us...
