Prime Minister Manmohan Singh
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh assured the Lok Sabha on Wednesday that his government would strive to match the 12th Plan's target of 4 per cent growth in agriculture with the resources at its disposal.
“I wish to assure [the House] that every effort will be made to match the target with available resources,” he said during question hour.
Earlier, Minister of State for Planning Ashwani Kumar said agriculture grew by 3.3 per cent during the 11th Plan. There was a need for more efforts to accelerate growth.
