Objecting to the alleged conduct of Mufti Shamum Kazmi in taping the proceedings of Sunday's meeting here of the core committee of India Against Corruption, Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal compared the incident with the one involving Swami Agnivesh.
Agnivesh was removed after he was caught on camera allegedly talking ill of Team Anna with a Union Minister when social activist Anna Hazare was on fast on the Ramlila ground in New Delhi last year, a charge the activist denied.
Mr. Kazmi has been removed from the core committee.
Earlier, two activists P.V. Rajagopal and Rajinder Singh quit the team following differences over the way in which decisions were taken. Team Anna said they had left because they were preoccupied with their own work.
“Several issues are thrown open at the meeting and discussed threadbare before we reach consensus. One such issue was that the group will have to take a stand at some point on electoral politics,” Mr. Kejriwal said.
“Baseless”
Asked about Mr. Kazmi's charge that he wanted to contest elections, lawyer and core panel member Prashant Bhushan said, “It is all nonsense. Totally baseless.”
Team Anna members Shazia Ilmi and Kumar Vishwas said if Mr. Kazmi was recording the proceedings for the sake of transparency he should have let it be known to all members beforehand. They charged the Mufti with giving “feeds” to television channels even as issues were being discussed.

What about the inflated bills of Kiran Bedi? What about the
illegal land grab by Ramdev? They are selective about throwing away a member.
Irrespective of religion, punishment should be meted for breach of trust like punishment for corruption. How can such a person, who secretly leaks core meetings, be let scot-free? It's Kazmi's great luck that he wasn't beaten up; only asked to delete what was recorded. Anti-national elements are unwanted in India.
Can anyone who shows his/her pro-plunder, pro-corruption, pro-bribery character by allegedly attempting to sabotage and defame -- an ALL-INDIA, all-religion, all-caste, all-political-affiliation, all-inclusive -- citizens' movement to reduce corruption in India be thought of as PRO-INDIA? We may or may not find out who was behind such an anti-nation initiative. But many Indian citizens are awake now, and such unpatriotic conspiracies will only harm, and harm irreparably, all those engaged in these dirty tricks campaigns. The anti-corruption genie is out of the bottle, and cannot be put back or ignored now. Success is only a matter of time. And wise people know how to behave in such situations, while the unwise will no doubt commit hara-kiri. Eternal vigilance is the price of freedom/democracy. All thoughtful and patriotic citizens will now be more united than ever before, in the face of the enemy within as well as the enemy without.
This shows the strength of the forces aligned against the Anti-corruption movement. They cross all cultural barriers, and I am really afraid of their security.
