At RML, there are 19 patients in ICU — most injuries being in lower part of body
The death toll in Wednesday's Delhi High Court blast has risen to 13 with the death of two more persons at the Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital here on Thursday. Forty-year-old Pramod Kumar Chaurasia, a resident of Nangloi, died of injuries on Thursday morning, while 58-year-old E. Pratran died late in the evening. Four persons are said to be in a very critical condition.
“We now have 12 injured patients under treatment in the surgical department and 19 in the intensive care unit. Most of the injuries are in the lower part of the body,” said a senior RML Hospital official.
Experts, if needed
“Over 75 people were injured in the blast and of them 57 were brought to the Lohia Hospital; one person has been transferred to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. The hospital will provide all care and facility to the victims. If needed, experts will be roped in from other cities to treat the victims,” he added.
Blast victims are also undergoing treatment at the Safdarjung Hospital and some private hospitals.
Relatives angry
At RML Hospital, angry relatives of the victims who shouted slogans against Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Wednesday night maintained that they did not want political leaders visiting the hospital.
“Political leaders visiting the injured does not mean much, they just create confusion here and delay treatment being provided to the injured. They should, however, be working towards ensuring that the common man does not suffer and is able to live peacefully. We don't want them in hospitals offering sympathy. We want the government to ensure that proper treatment is provided and that the relatives don't have a problem at various hospitals,” said a relative of a blast victim admitted at the RML Hospital.
Emergency unit
Meanwhile, the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry has made functional an emergency medical relief unit (in addition to control rooms functioning at RML and other hospitals) at Nirman Bhavan to help people seeking information on patients admitted to various hospitals in the wake of bomb blast.
The control room can be contacted at numbers 23061302 and 23061469.
Helpline numbers
The emergency helpline numbers of the hospitals are: RML Hospital: 011-23348200, 23404446, 23743769, 23404478, AIIMS: 011-26588700 and Safdarjung Hospital: 011- 26707444

We don't expect any thing from this government except security for life. If we cannot survive in our country, where can we go? we don't have one more mother land on this earth. Dear politicians,to understand our feeling, come out of your black cats and live like a common man!!
That was very black Wednesday not for Delhi only but for the whole mankind. we all pray to God to give all the Kin of the victims a great strength to overcome this grief. We all should not stop here, these politicians are just to take benefits from these kind of sympathy. They should make such strong law so that any terrorist would think at least 1 lk time to take such a heinous act. but they all politicians are just here to sleep in parliament and just engage to fill there Swiss bank account. I think they are responsible more than these terrorist. they encourage all the terrorist for not taking any strong action against them, giving them 5 star perks and z security. how long we all common man suffer these all kind of stuffs. please wake up all politicians, we are not sending you all guys to ditch us and looting the country, do something...
We all pray to Almighty to give enough strength to the victims and their families to bear this shock. No doubt that Politicians coming to see the injured is just a disruption in the relief process, nothing else.
Politicians have divided Indians from Indians and made the task of terrorists easy with their divide-and-rule policy. These men of evil win elections surely with vast amount of money and then make vast sum of money as the divided nation watches helplessly. Their sympathy to the blast victims is as good as a cobra crying after biting a victim!
Why are we so tolerant? Why does it happen to us? Are we a citizen of weak country? someone looses his/her beloved because of the ignorance of some capitalist doctor. Someone looses the only bread winner of the family in a bomb blast. Some chief minister ignites regional and secular sentiments by tweets. Some Police constable gets killed in maoist action whom a cheap chief minister supports. Why cant we fix the responsibility of our Governments? Ministers are busy in filling their swiss accounts as if there were no tomorrow. Who are they? They are public servants why do they travel with Z & Z+ on my money? I earn it with my hard work ....... yes hard work. Why do they skip security checks? Why did these VIPs go to hospitals not the accident site?
