Police on Wednesday raided a bar run by Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray's grandson Nihar in suburban Santacruz, arrested three staff members and detained nine bar girls. Four others, including bar owner Nihar, were declared absconding.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided Sangeet Bar at 12.30 a.m., following which Ramesh Shetty, Harish Shetty and Arjun Shetty were picked up. “As per rules, bar girls can serve the customers only till 9 p.m. However, they were in the bar at the time of the raid and, moreover, their behaviour was vulgar,” said Madhukar Choudhary, Senior Inspector at the Santacruz Police Station.
Nihar is the son of Mr. Thackeray's elder son Binda.
