Army releases names of 19 killed in depot blaze

The Army on Thursday formally released the names of the 19 personnel killed in Tuesday’s fire at the Central Ammunition Depot at Pulgaon in Maharashtra.

The Army on Thursday formally released the names of the 19 personnel killed in Tuesday’s fire at the Central Ammunition Depot at Pulgaon in Maharashtra.

Two officers, four Defence Security Corps jawans and 13 defence civilian firefighters lost their lives.

Among the officers, the remains of Lt. Col. R.S. Pawar were sent to Haridwar while that of Major K. Manoj were sent to Alappuzha in Kerala.

Officials said the remains of Naik Ran Singh and Satya Prakash of the DSC were sent to Rewari in Haryana and Kanpur respectively.
