An employee of a Hyderabad-based construction firm was kidnapped by suspected militants from Maibang in Dima Hasao district of Assam on Tuesday last. According to information received by the employee’s family in Ongole, Dandamuri Nagamalleswara Rao (48) working with Vasishta Constructions Private Ltd was abducted from the site at N.C.Hills in Maibong. His family, who came to know of the abduction on Saturday night, want the State government to intervene for the safe release of Mr. Rao. “Hectic parleys are on to break the deadlock as the abductors demanded Rs. 6 crore as ransom. We are on the job of securing Mr. Rao’s release safely in a day or two,” said Mr. T. Satyanarayana, a manager from the construction site to The Hindu . The company is involved in the execution of the Guwahati-Silchar national Highway project.
