It might have come as an embarrassment, but Defence Minister A.K. Antony saved the situation by ordering immediate action.

At a press meet here as part of the Aero India show, a Chinese journalist asked him why journalists from her country were being denied passes for the show.

Mr. Antony immediately asked his Ministry staff to arrange for passes for journalists from China. It was also pointed out that passes for the Chinese Ambassador to India were issued only on Tuesday afternoon. A Defence Ministry official later escorted two Chinese journalists, who were made to wait outside the main exhibition area, inside, well after most of the main flight displays were over.
