Devu Chodankar, accused in the Facebook post case, will appear before cyber crime cell of the Goa Police on Monday.

A senior official of Crime Branch here said that the Investigating Officer (IO) of the Cyber Crime Cell had agreed to the request made by persons mediating on behalf of Mr. Chodankar that he would present himself before the IO on Monday to explain queries regarding the equipment, hardware used, etc., by him for sending the questionable posts on Narendra Modi, which are part of the investigation.

Superintendent of Police Karthik Kashyap, who heads the Crime Branch, told The Hindu that no additional summons had been issued to the accused as already he had earlier been served with summons twice.

While the accused preferred to approach District Sessions Court seeking an anticipatory bail following the first summons, the police issued him second summons after the court rejected his anticipatory bail plea. In their reply before the court, the police sought custodial interrogation claiming that the offence was serious.
