Anti-farmer Opposition stalling Bill: Modi

March 06, 2015 12:49 am | Updated November 16, 2021 05:15 pm IST - Khandwa (Madhya Pradesh):

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hit out at the Opposition on Thursday for blocking the Bill to amend the Land Acquisition Act in the Rajya Sabha.

Addressing a largely rural gathering after dedicating to the public the first phase of the 2,520-MW Singaji thermal power plant, near here, he accused the Opposition of being anti-poor, anti-farmer and anti-development. The Bill was meant only to remove the block imposed by the previous UPA government in taking up development projects.
