The Central Bureau of Investigation on Monday arrested Sanjiv Wadhwa, Managing Director of Delhi-based company Comfort Net Trader Private Limited and a representative of a Swiss company, in connection with the alleged multi-crore overlays scam linked to the Commonwealth Games 2010.

According to official sources, the CBI arrested Mr. Wadhwa after his questioning in the scam. Last month, the agency arrested Shekhar Deorukhkar, a close aide of the former Games Organising Committee chairman, Suresh Kalmadi, in connection with the overlays scam.

Overlays works included supply of tents, marquees, pre-fabricated units, portable toilets, containers, security fences, furniture, public display LED boards, floor finishes, material handling equipment, gensets, cabling, UPS, air-conditioners, lighting, civil construction, athletic exercise equipment and grandstands.

The CBI spokesperson did not divulge further details.
