Despite being on fast for the last five days, anti-graft campaigner Anna Hazare’s vital health parameters are “stable”, doctors attending on him said on Saturday.

Heart specialist Dr. Naresh Trehan and a team of doctors did a complete examination of Mr. Hazare to check his blood pressure, level of electrolytes, heart beat and pulse rate.

“We have done a complete examination of Anna in the morning and also in the evening. His vital parameters like blood pressure, electrolytes’ level, heart beat are stable,” Dr. Trehan said.

There was no “danger point” so far even after 100 hours of fasting but the doctors have to keep a close watch on the health parameters of Mr. Hazare, Dr. Trehan said.

He said his team of doctors will be stationed there to conduct regular checks.

A team of 36 doctors, assisted by Dr. Trehan, would be monitoring the health of Mr. Hazare round the clock during his hunger strike.
