Social activist Anna Hazare and yoga guru Baba Ramdev will jointly observe a one-day fast at Jantar Mantar here on Sunday to take forward their campaign against corruption and black money.

“The fast has been organised by Baba Ramdev and Anna Hazare supports his demand for return of black money stashed away abroad. Therefore, he and some members of the core committee will join the fast,” said a Team Anna spokesperson.

The agitation is taking place against the backdrop of Team Anna seeking an independent inquiry into charges of irregularities against the Prime Minister and some members of the Union Cabinet.

The CBI has already initiated a preliminary enquiry into irregularities in coal mining allocations.

The Delhi Police have made elaborate arrangements to ensure law and order during the fast programme. Baba Ramdev's Bharat Swabhiman Andolan will organise similar protests in State capitals.

On Monday, the core committee of India Against Corruption will meet here to discuss its strategy. The panel will also talk about internal differences, made public time and again, over the attack on the Prime Minister.

Recently, when Team Anna sought an investigation into allotment of coal blocks made when the Prime Minister held charge of the Coal Ministry also, Mr. Hazare said he was not aware of the full details available with his colleagues. Later he reversed his stand.
